Thank You For Your Support!

Guyanese Girls Rock Foundation, Inc. recently celebrated the wonderful impact that Guyanese women are making in their communities and beyond and the wonderful momentum that we’re seeing around girls empowerment during our annual Honors & Awards Luncheon.  It is imperative, more than ever, to become galvanized by the work of our women leaders and support their future ventures.

Recognizing the accomplishments of these incredible women and girls gives me a wonderful sense of pride. Many Guyanese women are leaders in their respective industries across the Globe, and we are honored to highlight their achievements.

Having a powerful, strong, passionate female role model is something every little girl needs and for the past 2 years, girls in our Leadership Academy have been blessed with meeting some of the best female role models who have been showing girls and women everywhere that their goals are important, their dreams achievable, and their presence wanted.   I’m passionate about this because I truly see myself in these girls -– in their hunger, in their burning determination to rise above any circumstances and reach their full potential.  I know that many of you do, too. This year two of our college bound students were also recipients of merit scholarships.

I also want to extend special thanks to the many elected officials, civic and community leaders who supported us during the event.  Your presence and recognitions are a testament to your commitment to supporting our very huge Guyanese community here in New York.   Thank you to the board members, our  program director, volunteers, and mentors for your tireless work and dedication to GGRF.  A special thank you to the parents of our students for their trust in our mission, and for recognizing the value that are program is bringing to the community.

Finally, I would like to thank you all for your continuous support, commitment and belief in our organization and the Guyanese Girls Rock Movement itself.  We have a lot more work to do and sincerely hope that you will join us in this wonderful journey to empower & Inspire the next generation of female leaders.
