It’s Orientation Day!

The frigid temperatures and impending snow couldn’t put a stop to Orientation Day at the Young Women’s Leadership Academy! We are excited to announce we welcomed back thirteen 2019 students, with the addition of five new students, into the 2020 class. Also joining the YWLA2020 team are Nalini Dyal and Arlene Kendall, who both have extensive backgrounds in education from collegiate and high school levels, respectively. YWLA Students Attend Equine Opportunity Program At Jamaica Bay Riding Academy

Studies have shown that horseback riding improves children’s cognitive abilities and provides therapeutic value.  This past Saturday, Arissa Edwards and Tia Timmerman, two students from our Young Women’s Leadership Academy, attended the Equine Opportunity Program hosted by Metropolitan Equestrian Team (MET) at the Jamaica Bay Riding Academy.  They were accompanied by our Founder/President, Cloyette Harris-Stoute.
