YWLA Students Attends Alvin Ailey Dance Performance

We strive to exposed our young women to social & cultural events as part of our YWLA curriculum, and this weekend 10th graders, Arissa and Rickyel were treated to a spectacular performance by the Alvin Ailey Dance Troop at the New York City Center.  The tickets were a gift from Mrs. Dionne Dougall-Bass and Mr. Zachery Bass, and they were accompanied by our President, Cloyette Harris-Stoute. One of our goals at GGRF is to expose our young women to exceptional female leaders, and First Lady of Guyana, HE Sandra Granger, is a great example and a role model.  Yesterday our young women had the pleasure of meeting the First Lady who was visiting Brooklyn to attend a fundraising luncheon held in her honor by the coalition of Guyanese women.
