Last week YWLA students enjoyed a very special behind the scenes visit to ABC Studios. The day started with a close-up view of the live morning broadcast of EyeWitness News with co-anchors Shirleen Allicot and Ken Rosato, our very kind & gracious hosts. YWLA Students Attends Alvin Ailey Dance Performance

We strive to exposed our young women to social & cultural events as part of our YWLA curriculum, and this weekend 10th graders, Arissa and Rickyel were treated to a spectacular performance by the Alvin Ailey Dance Troop at the New York City Center.  The tickets were a gift from Mrs. Dionne Dougall-Bass and Mr. Zachery Bass, and they were accompanied by our President, Cloyette Harris-Stoute. YWLA Students Meet the First Lady of Guyana

One of our goals at GGRF is to expose our young women to exceptional female leaders, and First Lady of Guyana, HE Sandra Granger, is a great example and a role model.  Yesterday our young women had the pleasure of meeting the First Lady who was visiting Brooklyn to attend a fundraising luncheon held in her honor by the coalition of Guyanese women.
