The past weekend Guyanese in New York celebrated Guyana’s 50th Independence Anniversary with a series of business and cultural activities that ended yesterday with a grand “Mashramani” style unity parade and concert. The parade began on Church Avenue in Brooklyn and ended at the South Shore High School Park and several artists performed for the huge, proud Guyanese crowd. The Guyanese Girls Rock movement was out in full force for the celebrations. Here are some of the photos.
